MSFS202 does recognize the throttle with reverse axis on axis Z. Ailerons, elevator, rudder all register correctly - the throttle however doesnt move the in/out numbers at all. If I go into axes assignments/joystick calibration when I move the throttle back and forth the in/out numbers never change. So it is rare that I ever have to use the keyboard for anything other than typing to ATC on VATSIM. I purchased the software to work with MSFS 2020. Would never be able to do this with a yoke cause there are not enough buttons. With a yoke stuck to your desk this would be next to impossible. The other thing to consider is your going to have a lot less buttons on the yoke than you are on the X52 which is a joy.Example I have all the following assigned to my Throttle and Stick controls. It is easy and convient to move my controllers to the side during a flight and I can multi-task. I have the X52 Pro and thought about doing the same but have decided not to.
